FAQ about DUI arrests in Newport, Oregon:
A frequently asked question we get from people in Newport, Oregon who are facing DUI charges is, “what is a DMV hearing?”. A lot of people are surprised to learn that the DMV has their own hearings when people are faced with driving-related charges. Basically, it means that you will have the opportunity to stand in front of the DMV and challenge what is known as the “Implied Consent” suspension—in other words whether or not the DMV will suspend your license for failing or refusing a test. When you are arrested for DUI in Oregon, you have a window of 10 days to request a hearing to contest the suspension.
Due to the tight turnaround, it’s common for people to miss this DMV hearing. That is why it is so important to retain counsel who knows all the ins and outs of DUI charges. Our attorney’s at Reynolds Defense Firm will help you make sure you don’t miss this hearing, they will make certain that you get the best possible outcome from it, and help you wade through all the rest of your court hearings and beyond.
