Bio

A former prosecutor, Kyle was eager to join Reynolds Defense Firm as a DUII attorney where he could utilize his prosecutorial experiences to help our clients achieve the best possible outcome for their case. He is excited to integrate his years of legal experience with the firms’ goals to help guide the good people we represent through the criminal process.

Kyle first argued in court as a fifth grader when students from Lewis & Clark law school conducted a mock trial with Kyle’s class at Willamette Primary school in West Linn. The mock trial was held in front of an actual circuit court judge in the Clackamas County Courthouse, and that experience inspired Kyle to become an attorney. Also an Eagle Scout, his involvement with Scouting instilled in him a passion for helping others, giving back to the community, and striving to treat everyone he comes across with respect, compassion, and kindness.

Kyle is a double Bearcat. He first earned his bachelor’s degree in history and from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and then earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Willamette University College of Law, where he graduated in the top 25% of his class. While in law school, he was an editor of the Willamette Law Review and executive editor of Willamette Law Online. He also won the National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) two years in a row and competed in the NAAC Regionals held in San Francisco in 2016 and again in St. Louis in 2017.

He began his professional career as a Deputy District Attorney. His caseload ran the gamut of the criminal code but included a large number of DUII cases. He charged cases, negotiated plea deals, presented felony cases to Grand Jury, reviewed search warrants, was on-call to advise law enforcement in the field, and independently conducted criminal investigations in conjunction with law enforcement.

Those experiences make Kyle uniquely qualified to give our clients in-depth, expert counsel by quickly evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of any case. Kyle uses his background with investigating, negotiating, and trying cases to come up with a creative problem-solving approach to our client’s cases. In addition to his role as a legal counselor, his goal is to help guide our clients through one of the scariest times in their lives so that they come out on the other side better off.

Outside of RDF, like any true Oregonian, Kyle loves to spend time outdoors camping, hiking, fishing, and crabbing. He is an avid Timbers and Thorns supporter, amateur historian, home chef, bookworm, and animal lover. As a matter of fact, if Kyle had an unplanned day off work, he would likely spend it at the Oregon Zoo and wandering the isles of Powell’s downtown.

Highly Recommend!!
I would highly recommend Kyle Vinyard and the entire team at Reynolds Defense Firm. I got a DUII, something I never thought I’d ever be involved with, and I didn’t have any idea what to do. I called them to inquire, thinking I’d probably not get an attorney and every single person I spoke to and worked with treated me so kindly and with such care and respect. I hired them and have never ever had any regret. Kyle, Amy, Jen and all others I spoke to did all the leg work, things I never would have known to do. I felt completely at ease with something that was extremely stressful. Kyle is knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. We spoke about 4 times prior to my court hearing. He put me at ease, answered my questions, and pretty much saved my sanity. Amy also answered all my questions and was so quick to respond to my inquiries. I could write so much more about this firm. Getting a DUII is life changing. Something I plan to NEVER do again, although wouldn’t it be nice to work with RDF on a happier subject….?? I will be forever grateful that they “held my hand” through this. Thank you Kyle-Thank you Reynolds
